1. Idea & Hypothesis

Be crazy!! Bring ideas! Back ideas up with data or a hypothesis.

2. Test your idea

Come up with a low-cost test to validate your idea and at least 3 metrics that you want to use to validate that idea.

3. Iterate!

Take what you learned from testing, polish, and create a proposal for the whole idea as well as a stripped-down first MTP.

4. Build roadmap & MTP plan

Once you have a solid idea of what your product will look like, if it’s viable, and the problem it’s going to solve, build the roadmap, get that in front of the whole team, and write out a plan (user stories) for the MTP.

5. Kick-off development

Start with a kickoff meeting to get everyone on the same page around goals, ideas, and the timeline for the phase.

6. Set up tracking and key metrics

7. Release MTP & Measure

Set out a strict period of time for tracking, monitoring, and measuring along with some ideas for if you reach, extend, or miss your goals.

8. Start shaping the next phase

Start building the next phase based on business goals and value delivered to customers. Initial user feedback should factor in heavily to the planning of this phase.
